about

Genre: Harsh Noise Wall

MAUSSADE : adj. “malsade” 14th Century from the world "mal" (Evil) and from the old french word "sade" from the Latin "sapidus" (Tasty). “À la néantisation de la vie par l'homme rationnel” is the first release on CD of this Harsh Noise project from Montreal. Some listeners will be shocked while hearing the first seconds of this recording while others will let themselves be carried away by this wall of sounds, which creates an oppressive and / or relaxing atmosphere… whatever.
The only sound source used is broken glass with crushed hands recorded with contact microphones, within the walls of a metal ammunition box. It is then a recording made "live" in the studio, with no changes in post-production. A single massive block of clashing sounds, as is, without space for anything else ... Listening to this recording at extreme volume is mandatory.

Maussade is the solo project of Bruno Julian (Hyena Hive), who also runs the Montreal tape label. N.S.N
